Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles or PHEVs, are automobiles that, similar to HEVs, use electric motors to extend your driving range. One major difference is that you're able to switch to all-electric driving for short distances. You're able to plug in these vehicles and charge the battery at home or while out on the road, adding to the convenience you can enjoy.
Electric Vehicles or EVs, forgo the need for gasoline. Instead, you can explore the roads on pure electric power, allowing you to enjoy a quieter and more eco-friendly journey. Similar to PHEVs, you're able to charge these models from the comfort of your home or while you're exploring.
What is the driving range of Kia's electrified models?
Driving ranges differ. Not all vehicles are created equally. As of 2025, the maximum ranges of our HEV, PHEV, and EVs are as follows:
- Niro Hybrid = 588 miles
- Sportage Hybrid = 589 miles
- Niro Plug-in Hybrid = 510 miles
- Sorento Hybrid = 637 miles
- Niro EV = 253 miles
- Sportage Plug-in Hybrid = 430 miles
- EV6 = 319 miles
- Sorento Plug-in Hybrid = 440 miles
- EV9 = 304 miles
Can I save money when I choose a Kia EV over a traditional vehicle?
Typically, the initial price comparison places EVs higher than ICE models. However, over the lifetime of the vehicle, you'll find that EVs have a lower cost of maintenance since you can avoid many of the routine and surprise automotive services that plague ICE vehicles.
How long will my EV battery last?
EV batteries are built to last. On average, we expect your EV battery to last for at least ten years, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the roads from behind the wheel of a vehicle you'll love.
